April 8, 2016 ~

I've learned addictions don't have to be blatantly fatal to be relentless. I've learned it's very much a state of mind to desire to be somewhere else so intently. I've learned that interacting with other people is a skill that can recede. I've learned that old habits don't die hard, their disguises become harder to discern. I've learned the true balance behind the phrase "everything in moderation", and the complex experience behind such a simple statement. I feel as though I've just resurfaced on a vast, expansive beach after thoroughly searching a deep and dense forest until becoming infinitely lost. And I've just re-emerged, suddenly. The smoky barriers are lifting and retreating, I hope revealing, as I stand blinking and assessing, this new perspective needs addressing, it seems I'm back. Yet, that I never really left.
